Corruption allegation against BS Yeddyurappa: Court orders FIR filed and investigation
The Special Court of People's Representatives has ordered the Lokayukta Police to file an FIR against former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa, his family members and Minister ST Somashekhar and conduct an investigation.
Last week, the High Court had ordered a retrial in this case. Accordingly, the hearing was held today and the Special Court of People's Representatives has ordered to file an FIR and conduct an investigation. A case has been registered against BS Yeddyurappa, BY Vijayendra, Sashidhara Maradi, Sanjay Sri, Chandrakanta Ramalingam, ST Somasekhar, Dr GC Prakash, K Ravi, Virupakshappa Yamakanamaradi.
Based on the complaint filed by social worker T.J Abraham, Judge B. Jayantkumar has issued an order to file an FIR under various sections of the Control of Corruption Act and IPC and conduct an investigation. The court directed the police inspector to submit the final report on November 2.
The judge adjourned the hearing to November 2 after instructing that the accused should be investigated under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Indian Penal Code.
